About Koanne...
Koanne is a Hong Kong-based illustrator whose work blends bespoke commercial collaborations with heartfelt original storytelling. A graduate of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco with a B.F.A in Illustration, she specializes in creating spontaneous, emotive portraits for clients—a skill honed through years of on-site illustration for brands like Bulgari, Chanel, and Hermès..
Her career began with meticulous pencil work, exemplified by her award-winning series The Animal Tamers (The 3rd Greater China Illustration Awards), and she was later recognized as one of Perspective Magazine’s 40 under 40 (2017). While her live illustration work remains central to her practice, she also develops original projects like Grumpy Bun Bun—a family of grumpy-but-tender, loving characters that celebrate life’s imperfect moments.
Exhibited internationally and formerly an executive committee member of the Hong Kong Society of Illustrators, Koanne’s work balances technical precision with emotional authenticity, whether capturing a VIP’s likeness in minutes or crafting stories through her own characters.
Throughout her illustrious career, Koanne has collaborated with numerous esteemed local and international brands, showcasing her versatility and adaptability as an artist. Her impressive roster of clients includes renowned names such as Arcadia Press, Amway HK, Belif, BNP Paribas, Breitling, Bvlgari, BMW, Cafe de Coral, Cartier, Chanel, Chaumet, Chow Sang Sang, Dah Sing Bank, Christian Dior, Damiani, Dr.Ci:Labo, Dolce & Gabbana, Elle Magazine, Estée Lauder, Ferrero Rocha, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Guerlain, Haagan Dazs, Hang Seng Bank, Harvey Nichols, Hermés, Holiday Inn Golden Mile, iBlues, Lavin, Labo Labo, Marella, Max Mara, Miele, MilkX, Mr & Mrs. Itay, Moleskine HK, Nestlé, Oliver's Super Sandwich, Pandora, Piaget, Rabeanco, Samsung HK, Shu Uemura, Sogo HK, Swarovski, Tiffany & Co, Tory Burch, Valentino, Versace, Zegna and various private commissions.
